Clinton 2016 Campaign to Use Press Harnesses

harnessFollowing a successful campaign event at a New Hampshire Fourth of July parade in which a soft rope line was used to organize the press pool, campaign staffers are looking to expand the practice.

A campaign spokesperson explained the change in the campaign’s handling of media reporters,  “The new press harnesses will be extremely comfortable and are designed such that the leash attaches to the back of the harness, allowing for maximum mobility. They will be outfitted with each reporter’s press credentials as well as handy pockets and pouches for their equipment. This configuration allows the harnesses to be functional yet dignified.”

“Campaign staffers will be responsible for holding the leashes, with no more than five reporters assigned to a single staffer. A staffer will be responsible for walking her assigned press group to use the restroom, for feeding, and for 15 minute ‘off-leash’ breaks at regular intervals throughout the day. We believe this is the fairest solution for the campaign and the media.”
